Whether the 2012 Olympic park can deliver a blueprint for sustainable living is in question, according to the head of the independent assurance body for the London Olympics.

More work needs to be done to ensure the government delivers its promise that the Olympic Park will leave a sustainable legacy for east London.

Speaking at the Greening the Public Sector conference in London, Shaun McCarthy, chair of the Commission for a Sustainable London 2012, said: “I am optimistic that a sustainable games can be delivered but more needs to be done with regards to delivering a blueprint on sustainable living.”
