The sharpest minds in energy research will be at Warwick University this week for the annual UK Energy Research Centre Summer School.

The UKERC Summer School runs from today until Friday and will explore key issues surrounding renewable energy, smart grids, energy efficiency and international carbon foot-printing.

Guest speakers include representatives from the International Energy Agency, National Grid and EDF Energy.

The summer school has been designed to give first and second year PhD students an understanding of the broader issues relevant to energy research.

The UK Energy Research Centre is the focal point for UK studies on sustainable energy. It takes an independent, whole-systems approach, drawing on engineering, economics and the physical, environmental and social sciences.
