A multi-purpose electric vehicle has been launched that is cheaper to run than any standard 4×4 utility truck. The E-Warrior from Avid costs £9,750 and a full battery charge costs around £1.50, which works out at less than 4p per mile.

Avid managing director Ryan Maughan said: “It’s a really versatile vehicle that delivers great on-road and off-road performance, while lowering carbon emissions and running costs.”

The vehicle, which has a top speed of 25mph and travel a range of 40 miles, is designed for agriculture, military and ‘closed campus’ activities, much like a golf buggy.
