A renewable energy company in Wales that prides itself on its green credentials plans to build a wind turbine on its headquarters.

Located in the Mold Business Park, North Wales, West Coast Energy’s building would become entirely self-sufficient from the proposed 35 metre-tall turbine, which is expected to generate enough electricity to offset up to 100% of the power currently used by the company.

Chris Thomas, project manager at West Coast Energy, which specialises in wind power technology, said the company was “absolutely committed” to reducing its carbon footprint. “We see this wind turbine as part of our continued commitment to the environment and the future low carbon economy.”
