A third of UK residents have no idea of the extra costs of their Christmas Day energy, according to a new survey.

Research by E.ON found that 32% of people have no idea how much they will spend on energy on Christmas Day, with another 23% expecting the cost to be under £3 and 13% of people predicating it will be over £10.

On the back of the research, E.ON has launched a Christmas Energy Menu which shows the running costs of household appliances over the festive period. Visit eonenergy.com/christmasmenu for more details.

Kevin Bryant, E.ON’s energy fit instructor, said: “This isn’t about having a ‘Bah humbug’ holiday, but about giving people the power to make informed decisions about how and where they can make energy savings.”
