Barlockhart Moor Wind Energy have been granted permission to build 4 turbines near Glenluce, in Scotland. Each 112m turbine can produce 2.5 MW each, potentially creating a 10 MW output.

Barlockhart Moor, a subsidiary of West Coast Energy Ltd, have said the electricity produced by the wind farm could produce clean and sustainable energy for as much as 5,500 households.

Matthew Hayes, Planning and Development Manager for West Coast Energy: “This scheme will make an important contribution to the Scottish Government’s renewable energy targets and to the UK’s climate change commitments.”

The wind farm is set to cost £15 million to build.
