Good Energy, the 100% renewable electricity supplier, has said it will freeze its price for both gas and electricity.

The move is in contrast to other energy suppliers, many of which recently increased prices by up to 9%. The supplier first announced a price freeze in December 2010, and intends to maintain the prices at that level throughout the winter months.

If weather conditions are favourable for their renewable energy sources, for instance a good following wind, the price freeze could be extended until the end of 2011.

Juliet Davenport, CEO of Good Energy, says:

“Renewable energy should be affordable to everyone and this price freeze takes us one step closer to making this a reality. Our decision has been made possible due to significant improvements in our weather forecasting techniques which in turn have improved our ability to trade renewable electricity efficiently.”
