Leading companies in power generation, Alstom and Gas Natural Fenosa have joined forces again over the Cartagena gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Spain.

Alstom have now agreed to maintain and support the plant that they built in 2006.

The plant comprises of three 400MW combined cycle units. Alstom signed a similar contract with Gas Natural Fenosa for the combined-cycle units of Saint Adrià de Besòs and San Roque both in Spain.

Hans-Peter Meer, Senior Vice President Thermal Services for Alstom, said: “This contract reflects Gas Natural Fenosa’s continued confidence that operation and maintenance support from Alstom is the best way to secure safe operation, reliable service and high availability.”

Alstom has a 20% share of the Spanish combined cycle installed base, with more than 5 GW of generation capacity.
