China is planning a high-tech eco-district that is expected to be a model for future Chinese cities.

It will include the city of Xi’an, one of China’s oldest cities with a three thousand year history, famed for being thesite of the Terracotta Warriors of the Qin Dynasty.

The district will cover nearly a thousand square kilometres in the Shaanxi district in Northwest China,reported the news site China.org.cn.

The Xi’an-Xiangyang New District will host environmental-friendly and low carbon industry said the governor of Shaanxi Province at a press conference.
