A new British-made device can skim pounds from your heating bills by allowing individual, flexible operation of a household’s heating devices. The thermostatic electronic radiator valve (eTRV) from Chalmor, has the potential to save on gas or oil central heating costs by between 15% and 25%.
The invention comes with a remote control which makes it easier to control individual radiators to suit the needs of the homeowner.
Each radiator can be controlled not only individually, but also flexibly. Chalmor say, for example, a bathroom could be heated throughout the day but to a comfort temperature in the morning, a low temperature in the day and an economy temperature in the evening. Similarly a sitting room could be heated just weekday evenings but all afternoon and evening at weekends.
Retail price of the eTRV is £49.99+VAT and the handset costs £9.99+VAT.
