Membership to the Source London electric car charging scheme almost tripled after an eco motoring festival held last week in London. The event, ‘EcoVelocity’ had a purpose built test track which was witness to 7,000 test drives of low carbon vehicles.

Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, said the event was good for making the UK capital go green: “It is tremendous that EcoVelocity, the biggest eco car show in Europe, is demonstrating what is available right now as well as the future of clean, green motoring. It fits perfectly into my plan to make London the electric vehicle capital of Europe.”

The event showcased some of the latest in cutting edge technology from the world’s leading manufacturers, including Hyundai’s Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle, the ix35, Kia’s Rio hatchback and the world’s first production fuel cell car, the Honda FCX Clarity.
