Turbine titans Vestas have made a mark in North America with the first sale of their V112-3.0 turbines to Green Mountain Power. The 65MW order will include delivery, commissioning and a 15-year service and maintenance agreement.

Martha Wyrsch, President of Vestas-American Wind Technology, Inc. said: “The turbine features our latest technologies and is designed for wind speeds such as those found in this particular area. Because of its large swept area, the turbine delivers high productivity. It’s designed for improved rotor efficiency, reliability and serviceability.”

Vestas will manufacture the blades in a factory in Colarado, in addition to three they already have in the state.
