Salary: £Competitive

Location: Home Based/London

Basis: 2 to 3 days per week

The Gas Forum was established in 1994, to represent the views of Gas Shippers and Suppliers active in the GB Market. The Forum now counts among its membership virtually every significant GB gas shipper and gas supplier.

The Gas Forum offers a range of benefits and services to companies either already active (or planning to participate) in the downstream gas market and as part of its reform strategy is now seeking to appoint a Managing Director role on a part-time basis.

The Managing Director of the Gas Forum will drive the growth of the Gas Forum and will lead all activities of the forum. This will include working with Gas Forum members in various workgroups to develop industry leading positions on energy policy and regulation and mentoring the chairs of those workgroups.

Key responsibilities include the development and delivery of short, medium and long term business plans and establishing strong networks and relationships with members, industry participants, Government and regulators including National Grid, DECC, Ofgem, ACER and consumer groups.

The Gas Forum prides itself on the fact that it not only encompasses the larger players in the gas market but also includes amongst its membership smaller players ensuring that all voices are heard and therefore represented to both regulatory and Government bodies. The successful Managing Director will be a proven manager, with substantial utility industry knowledge, allied to strong leadership skills with the ability to grow the business.

The Managing Director will ideally be able to demonstrate a strong track record in a Senior Manager or Regulatory position within an organisation in the energy markets. A background in gas regulation and policy is desirable.

The role demands good commercial experience, in particular, in the areas of delivering change, customer focus and relationship development and a strong existing industry knowledge base.

If you wish to be considered for the role of Managing Director, please forward a CV in Word format, by e-mail, in confidence, stating current remuneration details and availability to [email protected]. Applications to be submitted by COB 4th November 2011.
