The Scottish Government has granted permission for the testing of a new type of wind turbine, further cementing their desire to be a centre for future renewable technologies. 2B Energy has been given permission to test a 6MW, two bladed wind turbine 20 metres off the coast of Fife, with the electricity generated to be used locally.

Energy Minister Fergus Ewing said: “Innovative companies deciding to test their new ideas in Scotland is further evidence of our reputation as a place to develop and deploy all forms of new green energy technologies. We are working to create the optimum conditions for low carbon investment to ensure we remain well-placed to become an international hub for low carbon expertise and a green energy powerhouse for Europe.”
