Solar lobbyists are today marching on the House of Commons to challenge changes to feed-in-tariff (FiTs) subsidies. The mass lobby will converge at Parliament at 2.30pm this afternoon.

The demonstration is part of the Cut Don’t Kill campaign, organised by pressure group Our Solar Future, which wants the Government to rethink a cut to the FiTs that they claim will slash support for solar.

The lobbyists say that if the Government doesn’t reverse its plans, up to 25,000 people could lose their jobs in the small but growing solar industry. DECC has previously defended the cut , due to come in next month, as essential to keep the FiTs sustainable for the long term.
