A Biomass Power Project Engineer is required to be based in Hertfordshire.

The salary on this position is 45-55K with extensive benefits.

This is a full time permanent position, working for a project team related to grid connected biomass power, involving some travel to locations in the UK, Ireland and Northern Europe.

Your role will be to provide the engineering input into the projects. This will include:

  • Providing initial engineering concept designs for the feasibility stage of biomass projects.
  • Conducting critical reviews of technical documentation produced internally and externally.
  • To specify, engage and manage specialist external consultant input on a range of engineering aspects such as technology and equipment selection, project optimisation including CHP feasibility, site investigations, detailed process engineering, materials handling, construction, BAT assessment, environmental permitting and other permits required to operate the plant.

The role would suit someone with a strong Mechanical Engineering background and with a strong understanding of mechanical/chemicals plants.

Someone with thermal plant background (Coal/Nuclear) or perhaps has worked in the pulp & paper Industry would be considered.

Also candidates who have managed external contractors and who have project management skills would be preferred.
