A recycling firm has been fined £191,000 for working without a licence after residents complained about the noise pollution. Scrap metal firm Metal & Waste Recycling Limited was given the charge by a Crown Court Judge on Monday for disrupting a South London neighbourhood. Michael Real, environment officer at the Environment Agency said: “I’m very pleased that the court has recognised the problems this site caused for nearby residents. The scrap metal activities really did affect their quality of life over a long and sustained period.”
