How green is your TV? That’s the question being posed by a new international competition which is searching for the world’s most efficient television.
The Global Efficiency Medal is being awarded by SEAD which is part of the Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM), a global forum promoting sustainable living.
The first award will focus on televisions, which they claim are responsible for about 6-8% of global residential electricity consumption. The official rules were announced last week and nominations for the prize will be accepted from 1 February to 31 May.
CEM counts Australia, Canada, India, Japan, Sweden, the UK and the United States among its members.
