Two schools in the North East have been awarded solar modules by PV heavyweight SANYO, as a result of a green initiative.

Both Rosa Street Primary School and Hamsterley Primary School in County Durham were recognised for their work on the Future Planets project- an eco challenge which gets pupils thinking about the state of the planet.

Mr. Shigeki Komatsu, Director of the Solar Division of SANYO Component Europe said: “We hope that the installations can become a real-life laboratory where the students can see for themselves the benefits of renewable energy and learn about the importance of making the right sustainable choices for the future.”
