Ukraine is eyeing new alternative energy sources and could clean up its existing coal power supply, according to reports. Exploiting shale gas and using clean coal technology will be essential, said Ukrainian Energy Minister Yuriy Boyko at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Coal makes up roughly a third of the country’s energy supply while natural gas is two-fifths, according to the IEA’s latest energy figures.
