New IT software which calculates energy usage across several locations has been launched by energy management & efficiency company Verdiem. The software allows global companies to more accurately track and manage energy consumption and costs across international boundaries.
Verdiem Surveyor allows customers to remotely control and reduce the energy used by computers and network systems. The new Spring Edition offers the ability to create their own specifications for certain locations. For example, Verdiem says a company can identify device locations based on IP addresses and automatically associate the device with the location’s energy rates in the local currency.
Energy rates can differ depending on the location and time of year. Some locations also have energy costs that vary throughout the day known as time-of-use energy rates. Verdiem says this creates challenges for energy managers to accurately calculate and manage energy expenditures in offices across multiple locations.
