EDF Energy has been shortlisted for awards in excellence and Responsible Business of the Year winning eight “Big Ticks” in different categories. This comes despite a report earlier this year which had the supplier on the bottom of a list for consumer satisfaction.

The power company received the most complaints in a report by Consumer Focus, where it assessed the Big Six on the level of customer satisfaction. The watchdog, in its quarterly energy complaints data, claimed EDF Energy was the worst performing supplier, retaining its zero-star rating.

In response EDF told ELN it continues to see steady improvements in 2012. The supplier also said it has launched a 24-hour web chat service for its customers and has launched its Customer Commitments scheme, which claims to deliver “Fair Value, Better Service and Simplicity” for its customers.

The power company was also found guilty of breaching sales processes by Ofgem earlier this year.
