Real-time energy monitoring for the Olympics

A new technology was revealed yesterday which will visually display in real-time how various Olympic sites such as the velodrome and aquatics centre are using energy.

The technology named by EDF as ‘Visi’ is available to view online via computer, tablet and mobile and will remain a legacy after the games.

Visi will be offered to business customers in the future allowing “staff to see, almost instantly, how their actions affect the company’s energy use in a way that makes sense to them,” said Sid Cox Director of B2B for EDF who are one of the main sponsors of London 2012.
