A “revolutionary” new energy reporting service is helping businesses like glass packaging specialist Allied Glass to save time as well as money.

The interactive, live, online platform by UK energy consultancy British Independent Utilities (BIU) is meant to help customers manage their energy procurement.

BIU which works with firms including Santander, NCP and Odeon Cinemas, plans to unveil the new service fully next month.

The brokers say they came up with the system after several customers said they wanted one report that could tell them how much energy they’ve bought, how much they’ve yet to buy, the delivered retail cost and an indication of where they would be against budget if they bought now.

BIU’s Head of Online, Dominic Kolb said: “In these challenging financial times, and in an increasingly competitive market, it’s no longer enough to simply buy cheaper. Clients are looking for innovative energy products that will not only save them money, but save them time too.”

Gary Law, strategic buyer for Allied Glass said: “It’s transformed the way we manage our energy procurement, saving us time. M2M gives us one simple report to digest and report back on in the boardroom.”
