The DEC service will provide renewal certificates and visits to existing DEC sites, as well as the production of any new DEC and Advisory reports for buildings recently added to the council’s portfolio. Cornwall Council will also benefit from the TEAM SigNet DEC Activity software, which will allow users to log-in to a secure site and view details of all DECs by rating, floor area, electricity and heating use and more. A fantastic tool for benchmarking and analysis, the software coupled with the service will contribute further towards supporting Cornwall Council’s  carbon and energy saving objectives.

TEAM Energy Assessor, Ben Wery comments: “DECs show the energy use of a building by the collection and analysis of accurate consumption data. It is a legal requirement that DECs are displayed in a place visible to the public, Cornwall Council will be able to use the DEC Activity software to keep an eye on all expiry dates of DECs to make sure they comply with UK legislation.
