Arnold Schwarzenegger gave the thumbs up as he congratulated the UK Government on its leadership in the field of energy efficiency.
Best known to the world as the Terminator, the former Governor of California sent a video message following the launch of the Government’s energy efficiency schemes.
He said: “I want to congratulate Greg Barker and Prime Minister David Cameron for their great leadership and for announcing this energy efficiency strategy. This is a very important strategy here… In California we are 40% more energy efficient than the rest of the country – the rest of the United States. And it is because we have added a strategy and a plan and a vision and we went after it relentlessly – and that’s what of course they’re now going to do through this strategy.”
He added: “I actually wanted to be there for the press conference and for the announcement… but I’m in Vienna at the international conference that deals with environment, with energy so I cannot be in two places at the same time. They don’t clone people yet – I’m not a machine, I’m not really the terminator, I only play it.”
He ended the message by saying “I’ll be there” if the nation needed any help. Last month ELN reported the official launch of the UK Government’s Green Deal scheme, which encourages households to become more energy efficient. It offers energy improvement packages such as insulation and will be paid for by the savings from lower energy bills.
