A supermarket chain saved itself more than £55,000 on upgrades to its electric metering network at three of its stores.

The orange-branded supermarket had budgeted £91,000 to boost the network at its three sites run by building services firm Longcross.

They ended up paying just £35,714 with the aid of energy consultancy STC Energy, which supervised the works including rearranging the deal with energy supplier and swapping the electricity and gas meters.

Tony Hayles, STC Director said: “We never rely on getting just the one chance to astonish our customers… we enjoy the rewards of making a habit of it!”
