Gazprom Energy has achieved a 10% share of the UK business gas market, making it the fourth largest gas supplier to businesses.

With the energy market dominated by the ‘Big Six’ suppliers, Gazprom Energy – whose clients include Chelsea FC, Sheffield Forgemasters and David Lloyd leisure centres – said it has reached a “significant milestone” by breaking the volume barrier. However, its new overall market ranking reflects growth within the mid-tier and SME gas markets.

The supplier claims it has achieved the position by focusing on developing its employees and building strong relationship with customers.

Jon Feingold (pictured), Global Managing Director at Gazprom Energy said: “Despite increased competition from independent suppliers and rising third party charges, we’ve significantly increased our market share through an absolute focus on our brand values – transparency, relevancy and simply making it easy for our customers to do business.

“As the market continues to tighten, energy providers need to work harder to differentiate themselves and this is why we have invested significantly in our people development and customer service offering.”

Gazprom Energy claims it has seen its market share increase every year since its launch in 2006. It supplies both electricity and gas to more than 11,000 UK businesses.
