An expert on the Electricity Market Reform (EMR) from the UK’s National Grid is joining the top line-up at Energy Live 2013.

Mark Ripley has been the Project Developer responsible for the design and delivery of National Grid’s role as EMR Delivery Body since December 2011 – when the EMR Technical update was published.

With businesses and consultants still in the dark over EMR and a staggering 97% worried about its impact on energy costs, Energy Live 2013 is definitely a great opportunity for firms to get their questions in ahead of the EMR becoming law this December.

Prior to his current role, Mr Ripley was the Regulatory Frameworks Manager for National Grid’s transmission business with responsibility for industry codes, charging, system access and system operator incentives for both gas and electricity.

Demand side management has been a topic of discussion recently following Ofgem’s warning about the possibility of power shortages and with National Grid proposing energy intensive firms to cut their power demand for a certain number of hours during the day in exchange for payments, it’s worth getting to know the nitty-gritty of it all.

To make sure you don’t miss out on the key issues, come along to Energy Live 2013 on November 7th held at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden.
