The singer and keyboardist of Welsh band Super Furry Animals is performing on top of a wind turbine tonight in protest against nuclear power.
Cian Ciaran, a founder member of the alternative rock-pop group known for tracks such as ‘Hello Sunshine’, is playing the free gig to coincide with the release of his own new protest album called ‘They Are Nothing Without Us’.
After teasingly trailing the gig at a secret “special location” in Norfolk earlier in the week on twitter (@cianciaran) and the website Pledge Music, the beans were finally spilled this morning by The Guardian. The musician’s twitter image bears the phrase, “Nuclear power? No thanks”.
He wrote on Pledge Music: “This will be my only show to date to coincide with the release and indeed my first ever ‘solo’ performance as myself.”
It is unclear whether he will be joined at the top of the turbine by the audience, as Ciaran added: “Please be advised that spaces are extremely limited, literally!”
