Let it bleed. That’s the advice of Ronnie the Radiator, who says bleeding yours can overcome the biggest bane of radiators around the world – trapped air.
The cartoon home heater has given his seven hot tips for keeping things nice and warm ahead of National Radiator Day on the 1st November.
Other sizzling suggestions include flushing your radiator to ‘budge that sludge’ and making sure you ‘bust that dust’ as cleanliness is next to toastiness.
An ICM poll of almost 3,400 people found most homeowners aren’t taking Ronnie’s advice. More than a quarter (26%) owned up to bleeding their radiator less than once a year, more than third (34%) admitted they never flushed their radiator and 13% let slip they had never serviced their boiler.
Bob Shire, creator of Ronnie the Radiator and Director of radiator panel manufacturer Joulesave said: “Whilst Ronnie represents a fun way of engaging with homeowners, the escalating cost of energy is no laughing matter. Despite this, there are ways that homeowners can save money by making a few small checks and changes. The cost of energy is only going to continue rising so homeowners must tackle this now.”
