Businesses need clarity on the future stability of energy supplies, says business electricity supplier Haven Power.

The Ipswich-based firm which is owned by Drax believes more needs to be done to secure alternative power sources and attract investment for both new and existing power generators.

Ashley Phillips (pictured), Head of I&C Sales says: “While we appreciate everyone needs to play their part in this, we would encourage clarity for all customers, particularly businesses, to provide them with confidence that these plans will not only support the future stability of the UK energy market but will also reduce uncertainty and eliminate unnecessary additional costs – helping to keep business competitive in the UK and abroad.”

The energy supplier, which offers renewable power to customers at no extra cost as part of Drax, suggests a mix of technologies is crucial for the nation’s long term energy solution.

One of the sponsors of Energy Live 2013, Haven Power says it supports the event’s key messages – procure wisely, reduce energy usage and consider renewable power.

Mr Phillips adds: “We are very much looking forward to joining with other suppliers and industry bodies on November 7th to discuss the growing issues around the important subject of our future energy supply here in the UK.”

Energy Live 2013 is taking place at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden on Thursday.
