Energy supplier ScottishPower’s 3.3% price cut for gas and electricity comes into effect today.
That means domestic customers on variable tariff will see their bills go down from £1,325 to £1,284 a year on average, according to price comparison site uSwitch.
The Big Six power provider will cut £42 from an annual dual fuel bill and pas on a £12 rebate every year as part of the Government’s levy reductions.
Those customer on fixed rate tariffs will however not make the savings but ScottishPower previously claimed 97% of those consumers are already paying less than those on standard tariffs.
The supplier had raised its energy prices for an average dual fuel bill by 8.6% last October.
