The IT and business intelligence firm APTECO is saving around £500 a year on energy bills after getting solar panels at its Warwick office.

Called Tink-a-Tank House, the Grade II listed building in sight of Warwick Castle took a year including a court case to get planning restrictions overturned.

Solar panels save the office 2.6 tonnes of carbon per year while another 1.52 tonnes of carbon are saved by the solar thermal system which also provides 66% of the firm’s hot water needs.

The £500 benefit includes cash from the Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive.

Energy installer GreenACT designed and placed the a solar PV system on the original slate roof.
