Business travel company One Transport is working with an “emissions free” chauffeur company to offer customers green transport options in London.
Called Thriev (pronounced “thrive”), its fleet uses the GigaWatt electric car made by BYD, the Chinese car maker backed by Warren Buffett.
Launched in February, by the end of 2014 the private chauffeur firm expects to have 200 electric vehicles. It claims each five-mile journey undertaken by one of its cars prevents 1kg of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere versus non-electric vehicles.
Geoffrey Riesel, CEO of One Transport said: “A refined, professional experience in transportation doesn’t have to literally cost the earth. The emergence of electric vehicles is a remarkable moment in London’s ground transport history and we’re pleased to be a part of it.”
