A 16-turbine wind farm in the East Riding of Yorkshire has been completed and is now exporting green energy to the grid.
RWE Innogy’s Goole Fields Wind Farm has a total generating capacity of 32.8MW – enough to power more than 18,000 households in the UK every year.
The energy firm has also set up a community fund which is expected to invest around £1.3 million during the operational lifetime of the wind farm.
Project Manager Tim Daldry said: “We now move into the next phase of the site, which will see the community investment fund go live. This fund will benefit Goole Fields’ neighbouring communities.”
