Electricity generation from wind farms was very strong over the weekend at 5GW but is forecast to drop this week.
It is expected to fall to as low as 1GW today and tomorrow, according to the daily market report from npower.
Looking at the gas system, Ben Spry (pictured), Optimisation Desk Manager said it is “just about balanced” as demand is “well below seasonal normal levels” – standing at around 150 million cubic meters.
Flows from Norway via the Langeled pipeline are up this morning, which is compensating for lower LNG sendout, he added.
Brent oil is looking “a little bit softer” at $102.50 (£61.3) per barrel “following a risk premium in the Russian-Ukraine situation last week”, Mr Spry said.
