Renewable infrastructure fund Greencoat UK Wind is buying a 51.6% stake in four wind farms in England and Scotland for £90.6 million.

The transaction includes the Sixpenny Wood, Yelvertoft, North Rhins and Drone Hill facilities –all of which were developed by AES and have a total generating capacity of 87.5MW.

Tim Ingram, Chairman of Greencoat said: “We are pleased to increase our investment portfolio to 16 UK wind farms with net generating capacity of 271.5MW.”

The company intends to complete the purchase later this month.

Swiss Life Funds (Luxembourg) Global Infrastructure Opportunities, a fund managed by Swiss Life Asset Managers, is buying the remaining 48.4% in the wind farms.
