Thousands of people are expected to attend a march in London today demanding action on climate change.
Oscar-winning British actress Emma Thompson is expected to attend the People’s Climate March, which mirrors one in New York ahead of the United Nation’s Climate Summit on Tuesday (23 September).
Comedian and provocateur Russell Brand is also heading to the march and nearly 8,000 people have clicked attending on a Facebook event for the London march.
Campaigners are hopeful hundreds of thousands of people will pitch up at similar protests around the world.
The summit convened by UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will be the first time world leaders such as Barack Obama and David Cameron have met to discuss the issue since the 2009 Copenhagen talks.
