Lamborghini has unveiled its first ever plug-in hybrid car at the Paris Motor Show this week.

The Asterion LPI 910-4 concept has been designed to significantly reduce carbon emissions and improve driveability, the luxury sports car manufacturer said.

The demonstration vehicle includes a 5.2 litre engine with three electric motors, boasts CO2 emissions of 98g/km and can travel up to 50km in pure electric mode.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini said: “To significantly reduce emissions on a car, plug-in electrification is the best option for us because for Lamborghini such a car must still provide a truly emotional driving experience.”
