Spanish manufacturer Gamesa has won an order to supply 172MW of turbines in India.

Under the agreement, it will provide 86 of its 2MW turbines at five wind farms located in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

The turbines will be manufactured locally at Gamesa’s Indian factories and are scheduled to be delivered next year.

The company said: “These agreements, with customers of varying profiles, endorse and reinforce Gamesa’s strategy in this market in which it has a solid and diversified customer base.”

So far this year, Gamesa has signed 500 megawatts of orders, it added.
