Pass it on Week is all about sharing, swapping and reusing old items.

As part of a new national week that will take place from 7th to 15th March, Zero Waste Scotland are encouraging people to swap and share their items they no longer want to someone else, instead of binning it.

Anyone can take part from individuals to schools and businesses. A downloadable toolkit is available on the Recycle for Scotland Website to give people ideas for events, holding swap shows and how to run car boot sales.

According to Zero Waste Scotland, a fifth of the half a million sofas that are recycled each year saves the equivalent of 4500 tonnes of carbon emissions.

So get swapping and get saving.
