Solar power plants with a total capacity of 111MW are to be built in Britain.
Magnetar Solar UK has bought four projects worth 71MW from Solarcentury, which will also help the firm build an additional 40MW of power plants.
All the projects will be connected under the government’s Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs).
Alan Shaffran, a director at Magnetar Solar said: “The government’s goal to increase the UK’s solar energy capacity and decrease its dependence on fossil fuels has made solar an extremely attractive market.
“We’re pleased to be partnering with Solarcentury to expand our solar energy portfolio and construct worthwhile solar projects such as these to help boost the UK’s solar industry.”
The solar farms are expected to be built by the end of March this year.
