London’s first all-electric race has been given the green light by the Wandsworth Council.

It gave the thumbs up for the Formula E competition to be held within the grounds of Battersea Park.

The ePrix will also include two separate races in the capital – Rounds 10 and 11 – on 27th and 28 June.

Jonathan Cook, Deputy Council Leader for Wandsworth Council said: “Formula E is an incredible racing spectacle and a showcase for zero emission electric motoring. This sport is changing attitudes to electric cars and I’m delighted Battersea Park will be the backdrop for the season finale.”

The zero emissions race will be held on an especially created 15-turn, 2.92-kilometre circuit.
