Lancashire County Council is consulting on extra information submitted for two shale gas developments.

Last June the council received applications from Cuadrilla to drill, frack and test for gas flows at Preston New Road and Roseacre Wood in Lancashire.

Planning officers recommended refusal of permission over noise concerns at both sites and the impact of traffic at Roseacre Wood.

The Development Control Committee deferred its decision earlier this year after Cuadrilla said it would submit further proposals to mitigate the concerns raised by planning officers.

“Further information on both sites has now been provided by Cuadrilla and Lancashire County Council will carry out consultation [until] Friday 17 April to allow representations to be made,” the council said.

It added: “The county council can provide assurance it will continue to carefully consider all views expressed on the proposals before any decision is taken.”
