Gamesa has won a contract to build a 220MW wind farm in Egypt.
The turbine manufacturer signed an agreement for the Gulf of El Zayt win farm on the Egyptian Red Sea Coast where it will install 110 of its G80-2.0 MW turbines.
The project was awarded by the New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) as part of a tender and will get public financing from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
The company will handle the supply, installation and hiring of the farm, which will start in September. The project is expected to be completed by the second half of 2017.
