A competition to help eco-tech developers become verified as green has been launched.

The competition is run by the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) offering free Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) to successful technology developers.

ETV is a tool to help new environmental technologies reach the market.

The competition was announced at the All-Energy conference in Glasgow by Scottish Energy Minister Fergus Ewing.

EMEC’s ETV manager Dave Wakefield said: “By proving that environmental benefit and innovation claims are real, we believe ETV will help them get investment, and get them to market sooner.”

“If you have an innovative environmental technology and want it to stand out from the crowd, this competition could be your launchpad.”
