ScottishPower is investing £3.1 million in Chester to improve electricity supplies.

SP Energy Networks, the Big Six supplier’s arm who owns and operates its transmission and distribution lines, is installing a high voltage cable between two existing substations on Belle Vue Lane, Guilden Sutton and Willington Lane, Duddon.

Jane Wilkie, District General Manager for SP Energy Networks said: “This is a major investment in the electricity network and although the primary focus is on reliability, it will also provide additional capacity for new connections or small generation in the east of Chester.”

The work started on 18th May and will last for two years.
