The Carbon Trust is launching a certification for cutting carbon in companies’ supply chains.

The not-for-dividend business helps firms reduce their carbon emissions and become more resource efficient.

After speaking at the Carbon Trust’s conference this morning, Senior Client Manager Lazar Armianov told ELN: “We’re currently developing a certification or a standard which looks at reducing carbon within an organisation’s supply chain.

“In the next two to three months we’re piloting the standard with six, possibly seven organisations.”

The conference called ‘Transport & Logistics – leading the way in sustainability’ gave an overview of the trust’s work in the transport sector.

At the same meeting the Account Director of the Carbon Trust, Mark Reynold said ‘setting green targets drives firm’s innovation‘.
