SSE has sold three wind projects to a UK energy company.

Blue Energy will build and operate the Whiteside Hill, Blackcraig and Cour wind farms in Scotland.

They are expected to have a total capacity of up to 98.7MW.

Martin Pibworth, SSE’s Managing Director Wholesale said: “The sale represents the next step, following the recent sale of Langhope Rig wind farm, in a programme of disposals to recycle capital and optimise our wind farm pipeline.

“The proceeds from the disposal of these three projects will help to support our future investments in new renewable energy assets.”

Blue Energy’s investment expands its UK wind farm portfolio to more than 260MW.
